I am going to assume that everything Surveillance Station can do, Blue Iris can do (and even possibly more) but having it be a simple package install on my NAS, it is getting regular updates and in your case only needing 2 Cameras, then honestly should be easy to try out. They seem to have a pretty extensive camera make and model support so they integrate with cameras well and if not it has ONVIF capabilities. There is a decent amount of features from scheduling types of recording at different times (always record vs motion detection at certain times of day). The UI for Surveillance Station I find to be pretty nice and familiar being a long time Synology user. This is in addition to having the desktop client which can even use GPU decoding of the video streams which is nice with a decent machine. I use the app on my iPhone and I would say in the last year they were really able to give it some modern features I had been waiting on, one being able to select a lower bandwidth stream for the camera if I am pulling from a remote location. Not sure I can offer a fair comparison as I only touched Blue iris years ago but have been using Surveillance Station for many years now.

Tldr Just try it if you have the hardware and only need to use the 2 free licenses at most. Likewise, if you have a question yourself you should start your own topic, not attempt to derail from the OP's question by posting your own questions in the comments. While elaboration and further suggestions are generally okay, the point of comments should be to answer the OP's question not to change the topic to fit your personal preference/beliefs. If the poster is asking about cameras, simply posting that they should get a gun is not acceptable. As in, if a poster asks for suggestions about a hardwired alarm, simply answering to get a camera is not acceptable.
